The Wanted: “Beautifully blurring the lines between Folk and AltCountry, with that Canadian ‘edge’ and trademarked ‘cool’ that is so difficult to put into words.”* This is honest and gritty roots music— full-throated and full-throttle, with edgy licks, infectious rhythms and soaring harmonies— a “performance worthy of The Ryman on a steamy Saturday night.”* Recent highlights include the critically acclaimed CD release, “Strange Flight”, produced by Michael Timmins of the Cowboy Junkies and nominated by Folk Music Ontario as Album of the Year, (the CD also reached #2 on the !Earshot campus and community radio charts, with tracks in rotation on Stingray Music’s worldwide commercial radio network); performing at the iconic Mariposa Folk Festival; showcasing at the Canadian Country Music Awards; touring Vancouver Island with soft-seat theatre and festival performances; selling out a show at the Oakville Centre for the Performing Arts; and being selected to showcase at “Your Roots Are Showing”, Ireland’s largest annual folk, roots, and traditional music conference!
