Event Description
The series’ final concert brings a collision of electronic and acoustic music from quartet granrojo. Coat Cooke, reeds/flute, Stefan Smulovitz, laptop electronics and viola, Chris Kelly, laptop electronic and saxophones and Paul Blaney, bass, weave complex soundscapes inspired by their work creating live soundtracks for silent films. Members of granrojo have played with artists including John Zorn, George Lewis, Phil Haynes, Evan Parker, Eye of Newt, Vinny Golia and Hospital. These internationally active members of the improvised music scene react to the energy of the audience t create music that reflects the atmosphere in the room that night.
