Canmore Brewing was founded in 2015 by Brian Dunn - and, like many other craft breweries, this one began in a garage. We grew up on the east coast, near the water We learned how to enjoy the outdoors, have fun, build stuff, and do things the right way. The ocean was our playground. And we learned how to share with family, friends, and strangers too. We learned respect. The mountains, rivers and lakes of the west are our playgrounds now - we make sure to get out and enjoy them. We share those times and stories with friends, family and strangers too. Over a beer. And we respect them all.
In early 2016, construction started on our brewery on Railway Avenue. Our first brew was a Ten Peaks Pale Ale on November 30, 2016.
Since then, we’ve brewed a lot of great beer, made a lot of great friends and have proudly grown into a valued member of the Canmore community. Our space has become a gathering point for all who are looking to celebrate a great day in the mountains.
As the brewery grew, so too did the the Canmore Brewing team. We’ve become a a blend of skilled beersmiths, passionate craft beer afficionados and outdoor enthusiasts, too. Everyone brings their love for the mountains into almost every aspect of the brewery. Each member of our team shares a connection with the outdoors, and with the mountains - often spending their free time hiking, skiing, riding, climbing, and exploring the breathtaking landscapes of the Rockies. We’re as passionate about great beer as we are about the mountains!

Whether you’re a Bow Valley local coming regularly to the taproom for our Community Friday music nights or whether you’ve only just found us while passing through, your time here at the brewery will be a great experience.
